I intend to see hunger end in my lifetime, but we have work to do. Nearly 1.5 billion people in developing countries live on less than $1.25 a day. In the United States, more than one in four American children are at risk of hunger. More than one in five children live in households that struggle to put food on the table. This is unacceptable.
On October 20th I am participating in the Springfield, MA CROP Hunger Walk to raise money for CWS Global that will go towards effective poverty-fighting programs around the world. CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events that bring people together in a common mission: helping hungry people at home and around the world.
And you can be part of it!
Please join me on this journey, ending hunger one step at a time.
P.S. I recently screened the documentary, "A Place at the Table," and was deeply moved by Barbie's story. The video on this page are clips of Barbie's story from the documentary. I will think of Barbie while I walk.
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools and others to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.
