Fundraising Honor Roll

Did you know last year thanks to the Tri-Cities’ church community Love INC, The People Center and The Salvation Army each received a check for $2264 for area food pantries.  In addition the Tri-Cities in the past 38 years have raised $687,000 for God’s local ministries and devastated areas throughout the world.  This amazing amount of money is from the fruits of the CROP Hunger Walk.

Here are the current 2014 Teams and Recruiters - Harvest Bible Chapel Spring Lake (Host Church) – Chad Bush and Phil Bacalia, Second CRC – Chris VanStratt, St. Mary’s – Dorothy Raha, Seventh Day Adventist – Janice Forrest, Second Reformed – Jean Provencal, First Reformed – Barb Jerovsek, Watermark – Becky Staal, United Methodist Church of the Dunes – Blair Miller, First CRC – LaDon Gustafson, St. John’s Episcopal – Kelly Ortquist and Joanie Smith, Spring Lake CRC – Joyce VanBeek, Hope Reformed – Patty Taylor, St Pauls UCC – Mike Leak, Spring Lake Presbyterian – Sheila Riley, St Patrick’s and St. Anthony’s Sheryl Zajechowski/Pam Stevens, St. John’s Lutheran – Tim and Tracey Woods, First Presbyterian Grand Haven – Tom Hammond,  Church World Services – Lary Jackson, The People Center – Karen Reendeers, The Salvation Army – Wendy Jobin and Love INC – Jeanette Laarman.

Get involved in the fight against hunger . . . The more churches and people involved the more blessings we can spread through the ministries of Love INC, The People Center and The Salvation Army; and also worldwide.  Your involvement can be as little or as great as your leadership team desires.

  • For every walker who raises at least $39, there is an anonymousdonor who will give a $10 match.   Join our team here online or contact Jeanette Laarman to get a walker envelope at 616.846.2701
  • A simple way to get involved is to simply make a donation.   Jump start our efforts by donating  right here on this page or send a check made out to CWS to 1106 Fulton Street, Grand Haven MI  49417.  This year event goal is $40,000.
  • Yet another is to get youth involved.   By getting youth involved in fund raising or volunteer activities, you are setting them up for success.   Their involvement allows them to be part of something bigger than themselves, something they can be proud of.   In addition we are teaching the youth about getting involved and impacting God’s kingdom.  By being involved in a fund raising effort, would be one more way to equip our youth to handle a variety of ministries; they are the next generation who will over these positions in the future.
  •  One way to be involved is to ask someone in the church, business, classroom or organization  if they are willing to help with the walk and represent your church.    This could be you, anyone from a pastoral team, management or an individual passionate to help others in the community.  This person is considered a recruiter.  This person will make a huge impact here in the Tri-Cities and throughout the world.
  • Another way to get involved is to share the information with others.    If you are a church you could share information in bulletins or if you are a company you could post information in your break room.

We want you to be part of this life saving event; our 39th year.  If you have questions, please contact Jeanette Laarman at 616-846-2701 or jeanette@loveinctricities.org for more information or to just get involved.
