I'm walking for the women all over the world who have to care for their children, grow, pick and cook their food, haul buckets of water miles every day (at 8 lbs a gallon), and clean everything with as little water as possible just to survive. In many countries, the life expectancy is only in the low 50's, and for women that is a life of hard labour. I'm walking to bring water sources closer to homes, share agricultural techniques that increase productivity and also family nutrition, and to provide microcredit loans for women to start their own businesses.
CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by religious groups, businesses, schools and others to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.
