Church World Service is working with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and promote peace and justice among the most vulnerable people -- around the world and in the U.S.

Church World Service partners with groups large and small across the United States.  We support local food pantries and soup kitchens with funds raised from CROP Hunger Walks, we provide material resources, training, and project development to our emergency response partners when disaster strikes, and we Speak Out and walk with sister organizations as we try to pass and effect positive and just legislation in the halls of Congress. Together, we inform each other and share knowledge and expertise.

CROP Hunger Walks are an amazing and effective way CWS helps communities large and small raise funds for local hunger-fighting efforts in communities across the United States.  CROP Hunger Walks help support struggling families here at home by providing support 25% of what is raised by the local Walk -- for food banks, soup kitchens, and community gardens.

In disaster preparedness, response, and recovery in the U.S., Church World Service works with and through local faith-based and community organizations.  CWS has been instrumental in helping communities along the U.S. Gulf Coast recover following devastating hurricanes, partners with local organizations as they help families rebuild following flooding in the Midwest, and works with groups as they organize and build networks to help prepare and plan for disaster before it strikes, because oftentimes, a good offense is the best defense against disaster.

As CWS works to help people recover from natural disaster, we also work in cooperation with the U.S. government to resettle refugees from around the world through an extensive network of affiliates, participating denominations, and sponsoring congregations and groups.

Church World Services joins the voices of partners and constituents to…

Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute.... defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:8-9.

Church World Service defends the rights of the poor and needy, and is empowering U.S. citizens to call on our government, the United Nations, and key international institutions to formulate policies responsive to the needs of impoverished people here at home and across the globe.  Church World Service invites you to join in our network of local and global caring perhaps through participation in your local CROP Hunger Walk, the Blankets+ program, the CWS Kits program, through our Speak Out network, or an Alternative Holiday Fair.  Call 888-297-2767 to learn more.  Become a voice for peace and justice and support the work of Church World Service and our many and varied programs today!
