As climate change affects weather patterns, some of the most vulnerable people affected will be subsistence farmers in Africa. These farmers, many of them women, depend on their crops for their families' food and as their only source of income. Church World Service is working to give a voice to these women and their families, advocating for just climate legislation and responses. As well, CWS advocates for the rights of children and people affected by HIV/AIDS, empowers people in the U.S. to speak out for legislative responses to the violence in Darfur, Sudan, fights for the rights of women and girls suffering from gender violence and discrimination.
