World Water Day 2012: CWS helping communities meet the challenge
One billion people in the world live with chronic hunger, and the water supplies needed to grow food are becoming more and more scarce. That, combined with the increasing need for water for sanitation and hygiene, poses a serious challenge in the face of a growing world population.
This World Water Day (March 22), Church World Service is joining the United Nations and water advocates around the world in efforts to spotlight both the problem and some of the solutions already in place.
CWS Africa Regional Coordinator Dan Tyler explains how climate change makes the region increasingly vulnerable to water shortages, and what CWS is doing about it.
