Background: Zu Galeria Fine Arts and the Church World Service Miami
Office have joined forces to host a one-day art sale with all proceeds
going to the Haiti earthquake relief efforts of Church World Service.
Artist Julio Gonzalez Consuegra, who has donated 100 original art pieces
to be sold on Sunday, will be present.

Manny Lopez, owner of Zu Galeria Fine Arts, said he is a confirmed
Church World Service supporter.

"The artist wanted to donate his work to an organization helping
Haiti," Lopez said. "I thought of Church World Service right away.
I've participated in CWS fundraisers for the past two years and have
seen the labor Church World Service does, especially with the Haitian
community.

"I wanted to give the art sale proceeds to someone who's really
doing something for Haiti and not have the money get lost in the cracks.
I've met the Church World Service staff and many of the Haitians who
have benefited from the work CWS does. I wanted to be part of that. I
told the artist about CWS and he said, "Wonderful, let's do
it."

development and refugee assistance agency supported by 36 Christian denominations and communions in the United States and by public
donations and grants. CWS is one of nine national voluntary agencies
that work with the federal government and a nationwide network of local
agencies to resettle refugees across the United States.
